From November 4-6, 2017, nearly 2,000 individuals will gather for the 20th annual Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice in Washington, D.C., sponsored in part by Center of Concern. The yearly gathering addresses timely social justice issues in the context of Catholic faith tradition—this year with a primary focus on racism and immigration.

GWP's Center Focus Live! Welcomes Filmmakers and Advocates for Women's Equality, John Fuegi and Jo Francis

On April 10 at Georgetown Unversity's School of Continuing Studies auditorium, the Center of Concern's Global Women's Project (GWP) hosted a new event, Center Focus Live!. The event included a film screening, question and answer session with the filmmakers, and reception to celebrate the Project's legacy of leadership on women's issues through research, education, and advocacy. Dr. John Fuegi and Ms. Jo Francis, filmmakers of the featured presentation, The War Within: A Portrait of Viriginia Woolf, fielded questions from a lively audience and offered insights into their work on the internationally acclaimed film series, Women of Power. Dr. Deva Kemmis, the new director of the Global Women's Project, shared her commitment to continue working for girls' education and women's empowerment. Dr. Carolyn Bain, the director of communications, organized the event.

RBW Speaks at Moscow Seminar on Russia's Contribution to Post-2015 Development Agenda

On March 12, 2014, CoC team member Aldo Caliari spoke at a High Level Expert Seminar held in the framework of Russia’s Group of 8 Presidency: The Post-2015 Development Agenda: towards a new partnership for development. What contribution could the Russian Presidency in the G8 make?” The seminar, held in Moscow, was organized by the Russian G8 Presidency team, the World Bank and the United Nations Development Program. Mr. Caliari's presentation was part of a panel focused on how to make development finance work for sustainable development.
