Earlier this year the Independent Evaluation Office of the IMF started an Evaluation of the IMF’s Approach to International Trade Policy Issues.  Please join us for a meeting with Ms. Susan Schadler, the team leader carrying out the evaluation, and her team. The meeting will be an opportunity for civil society organizations to better understand and engage in the ongoing evaluation and exchange views on it with the evaluating team.

The People's Summit: Our Response to NAFTA Expansion

Under the title Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP), the heads of government of Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. will meeting in New Orleans to attempt to extend the unpopular North American Free Trade Agreement through a type of arrangement designed to avoid the need for Congressional approval. In this People's Summit, organizations from the 3 countries will gather to build collective knowledge and action to transform NAFTA and other unjust economic policies. They will link the Gulf Coast struggle after Katrina with the fight for survival in Mexico, Canada, and the rest of the U.S.

Center of Concern Board Meeting

The Center Board meets twice a year in April and October. The meeting runs from noon on the first day to noon the second. Current Center of Concern Board Members are: Jacques Baudot, Nancy Bramlage, SC, Helen Marie Burns, RSM, Jeff Chojnacki, SJ, Vincent Cushing, OFM, James E.
