CoC at regional event of Latin American tax administrations

On October 18-19, 2016, Center of Concern team member Aldo Caliari will be in San Jose, Costa Rica, to speak at the Fifth Regional Meeting on International Taxation. The meeting is convened by the Ministry of Finance of Costa Rica, the Latin American Network on Debt, Development and Rights (LATINDADD) and the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), in collaboration with the Latin American and Caribbean Network on Tax Justice and with the cosponsorship of the Financial Transparency Coalition.

Tackling tax evasion and avoidance in order to recover trillions of dollars lost in resources for development every year has risen to be one of the top priorities in the agenda for mobilization of financing for development. The meeting will bring together representatives from over fifteen tax authorities from Latin America, experts and civil society organizations to discuss challenges and advance solutions for the implementation of initiatives on the matter such as the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting Action Plan launched by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
