On July 15th through 17th, 2014, Center of Concern team member Aldo Caliari is in Fortaleza, Brazil, to speak and participate at events in the occasion of the 6th Summit of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), being held in that city on July 14-15. On July 15th, he will be one of the panelists at the launch of the book “Infrastructure: For Profit or for the People? The crucial role of responsible and democratic governance.” To this book, published by the Heinrich Boell Foundation and LATINDADD, he contributed a chapter. On July 16th, Caliari will speak at one of the panels of a 2-day workshop “BRICS Bank Monitoring Project”, a workshop bringing together civil society organizations interested in ensuring that the emerging BRICS Bank –a development finance institution of the BRICS that they are expected to announce at the Summit – behaves in accordance with principles of sustainable development and human rights.
