On April 15, 2014, RBW Project Director Aldo Caliari will address the Special high-level meeting of ECOSOC with the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. The meeting, which this year takes place on the days of April 14 and 15, is held every year at the UN Headquarters in New York, and is part of the follow-up to the Financing for Development Conference. The mobilization of financial resources and their effective use for sustainable development, and the global partnership for sustainable development in the context of post-2015 development agenda are among the topics to be discussed. Also in New York on the 15th, Caliari will co-host “Inequality: Jobs with Growth and Equity.” This seminar will be the inaugural one in a series of closed seminars for Executive Directors of the World Bank and the IMF that Center of Concern co-organizes with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. The whole series, to run through the rest of 2014 and early 2015, will focus on Key Issues in Financing a New Generation of Development Goals that are of relevance to the Bretton Woods Institutions.
