Indicators to measure progress on development objectives: How are they chosen?

On February 28- March 1, Center of Concern staff Aldo Caliari attends the workshop “The Power of Numbers: A Critical Review of MDG Targets for Human Development and Human Rights.” The workshop is part of a multi-author research project to review the criteria used to choose indicators for the development goals set at the beginning of this millennium. It will identify best practices as world governments embark in deliberations on how to shape the post-2015 development agenda.

In a paper commissioned as part of the project and to be presented in Geneva, Caliari will review the indicators for  Goal 8, addressing debt, trade and aid’s role in development.
