St. Francis and His Relevance for Today

Education for Justice | Tue, Sep 23, 2014

Creative Voice, Fr. Joseph Nangle, O.F.M., encourages us to reflect on a pro-active Francis concerned with real issues of peace and justice. Francis, who went to the Middle East during the Fifth Crusade, actively engaged the Sultan who he refused to categorize and see simply as an "enemy." In our polarized age, Francis serves as a model of active peacemaking and of patient and respectful encounter with the "other."

The reflection is available through the Center's Education for Justice Project subscription, which provides access to this resource and many social justice interactive tools, prayers, and images.
