Institutions are needed to preserve rights of future generations…

… is one of the main messages of this year’s Social Watch Report.  The report, prepared annually with contributions from organizations in more than 65 countries, is this year focused on the theme “The right to a Future.”  In its US Chapter – co-authored by the Center of Concern – the report argues that “The multiple crises facing the United States and the world are rooted in the prioritization of economic growth over human well-being.

COC joins organizations from over 70 countries to claim accountability for economic justice

From July 13 to 15 staff member Aldo Caliari is representing Center of Concern at the 5th Assembly of Social Watch, being held in Manila, Philippines, under the theme “Claiming Democracy: Accountability for Economic and Social Justice.” Social Watch was established in the 1990s to hold governments worldwide accountable for their social development, human rights and gender commitments.
