Under the title Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP), the heads of government of Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. will meeting in New Orleans to attempt to extend the unpopular North American Free Trade Agreement through a type of arrangement designed to avoid the need for Congressional approval. In this People's Summit, organizations from the 3 countries will gather to build collective knowledge and action to transform NAFTA and other unjust economic policies. They will link the Gulf Coast struggle after Katrina with the fight for survival in Mexico, Canada, and the rest of the U.S.

The Center Board meets twice a year in April and October. The meeting runs from noon on the first day to noon the second.
