As we commemorate the U.N.International Day of Peace (September 21) a cry for peace with justice resonates throughout our world. In recent days we have witnessed the tragic shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and the eruption of violence in its aftermath; the ongoing airstrikes between Gaza and Israel that have resulted in senseless deaths; and the beheading of photojournalist, James Foley by militants in Syria. Education for Justice shares its message of peace—an invitation to reflect on the Gospel call to be "channels of peace' in a world so torn by violence and war. Join EFJ in reflecting on how people of faith might channel healing, reconciliation, and transformation to bring about peace in our local, national, and global communities.
